“Psychoanalysis…is an apprenticeship in living beyond despair.”

—Julia Kristeva

I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults in person and virtually.

Many people seek my help for anxiety, depression, panic attacks, relationship problems, sexual difficulties, emotional instability, problems with getting things done, or difficulties at work. Others simply feel stuck and struggle with a feeling that something’s not right. Sometimes these feelings are clearly related to a close relationship, feeling frustrated at work or at school, or confronting a significant change. Other times there’s simply a sense that something needs to change. It’s normal to experience feelings of sadness, anger, uncertainty, or confusion—but you don’t have to sit with these feelings alone. Whatever is going on, I’m here to help you find clarity, insight, and a path towards feeling better.

My office is in the Union Square area of Manhattan. With children, I use play therapy to alleviate anxiety, depression, and other difficulties. With adolescents and adults, I explore how your interests and obstacles, as well as social and cultural factors, contribute to how you approach your life and its challenges. Regardless of what brings you to my office, you’ll find that my approach is attentive, collaborative, and calibrated to the specific things that make you you. Together we will work through your difficulties and your worries so you can build a more vibrant and fulfilling life.

My primary areas of expertise include issues related to gender, sexuality, and relationships of all kinds. I have additional expertise with people who habitually feel “blank,” angry, stagnant, stuck, or uncertain about what’s tripping them up in their life.

For those looking to go deeper, I offer psychoanalytic sessions at a higher frequency—two or more times per week.

I offer a free consultation to explore how we might work together. You can request an appointment through the contact button below or by calling me at 646-543-8142.
